ALTERNATIVE REMEDIES
Part 1: A Celestial Moment
I was rushing late this morning, entering through
our back door entrance. I told myself, "need to
hurry; there are two customers now lined up in
the cafe." And so I thought. I will go to the 2nd
register while my husband was serving Lyne,
the first customer. Then I ask him? "Where's the
next customer? Did he leave?" Both my husband
and Lyne had a puzzled look. "what customer?"
Lyne said, "no one is here; I'm by myself, isn't
Jhun?" Jhun agreed. "I explained that I saw a
man behind her back while I entered the door,
and he was towering almost as tall as the frame
of the wall post itself. I thought he was huge.

Then I realized, did I see an Angel? But it seems
so early, and why would he show himself to me
and not to them. After Lyne left, Jhun hurried to
check out our CCTV, but there was no other
customer from all recording angles. I know they
have many roles in my readings, such as
ministering to people and messengers of God.
Why would I assume that it was a celestial being?
Maybe because I had seen and witnessed friends
of mine when I was young, being possessed.
One particular experience I had, was when I was
still in middle school.

After school, I asked my teenage nanny to play
with me after I finished my homework. She
was petite and only 4'11 short. And she waited
for a while in our living room. When I saw her,
she was seated at the edge of our couch and
looked down on the floor. I teased her a little bit,
but she was not responding. I knelt to look at
her face; lo and behold, her eye balls were all
white. She was breathingheavily and slow. I
hurried to get my brothers and sister for help.
I had no time to explain to them, but because
I was frantic and told them how her eyes looked,
they followed me.
My sister fetched our tenant, a nurse, to do
a quick physical exam on her. As soon as
the nurse finished checking on her, she
suddenly stood up, trying to get out of our door.
My brothers tried to stop her, but she was super
strong. It took 3 grown men to push her into one
of our bedrooms to confine her. To make the
story short, when she woke up in the morning.
She had no recollection of what had happened
to her. I have stories of personal friends who
had physical changes happen to them. But that
may be for another time. So, there is no doubt
in my mind that if there are evil spirits, surely
there are good and holy celestial beings as
well. But why this time, and what is the meaning?
My request for you is to have an open mind.
I myself have a hard time understanding what
I have seen and experienced. I was young and
skeptical until this personally happened to me.

As we get to the end, you will see that this will
all tie up in the end. These shaped my strong
views of the principalities, the powers, the
world forces of this darkness, and the spiritual
forces of wickedness in the heavenly places
that the word of God was talking about. It gave
me the desire to know more about God, His
will, the devil's schemes, what faith is, visions,
dreams, and miracles.

Before I share with you my two cancer journeys.
I will tell you two stories that had strongly
impressed my spirit and inspired my belief in
being healed. The 1st one was written in Luke
8:43-48 King James Version (KJV) 43 And a
woman having an issue of blood twelve years,
which had spent all her living upon physicians,
neither could be healed of any, 44 Came behind
him and touched the border of his garment:
immediately her issue of blood stanched. 45 And
Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied,
Peter and they that were with him said, Master,
the multitude throng thee and press thee, and
sayest thou, Who touched me? 46 And Jesus
said Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive
that virtue is gone out of me. 47 When the
woman saw that she was not hiding, she came
trembling and falling before him, she declared
unto him before all the people for what cause
she had touched him, and how she was
healed immediately.
48 And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good
comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go
in peace. The second story was Luke 7-9
English Standard Version (ESV)7 After he had
finished all his sayings in the hearing of the
people, he entered Capernaum. 2 Now a centurion
had a servant[a] who was sick and at the point
of death, who as highly valued by him. 3 When
the centurion[b] heard about Jesus, he sent
him elders of the Jews, asking him to come and
heal his servant. 4 And when they came to
Jesus, they pleaded with him earnestly, saying,
"He is worthy to have you do this for him, 5 for
he loves our nation, and he is the one who built
us our synagogue." 6 And Jesus went with them.
When he was not far from the house, the centurion
sent friends, saying to him, "Lord, do not trouble
yourself, for I am not worthy to have you come
under my roof. 7 Therefore, I did not presume to
come to you. But say the word, and let my servant
be healed. 8 For I too am a man set under authority,
with soldiers under me: and I say to one, 'Go,' and
and to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it."

9 When Jesus heard these things, he marveled
at him, and turning to the crowd that followed
him, said, "I tell you, not even in Israel have
I found such faith." 10 And when those who
had been sent returned to the house, they found
the servant well.

The healing story of the bleeding lady and the
faith of the centurion seemed to have combined
mine. Let me start by telling you my present
situation until we get to how it all started.
Seven months have passed, and it was Sunday
morning in Chicago; I woke up early at about
7 am. I tossed and turned towards the window
to see that it was still dark outside, and I
continued to sleep for a few more minutes. So
I decided I'll wake up in another 30. My husband
and I woke up at the same time, and he said,
"We're late." he added, "I figured we can't get
to church yet, cause there may be sick people,
and you can't be around them." I replied, "ok."
In agreement with him since it was my second
week in recovery after my last chemotherapy.

Knowing that it's still flu season, with new
outbreaks of coronavirus around the globe.
The world had yet to see another devastation
since we have seen what SARS and MERS
can do to a whole country. We got out of bed,
and my husband decided to make breakfast
while I stayed to tidy up. Justine forgets how
fragile my health can be, with the present
world situation still gloomy. She went to our
bedroom with a big smile on her face and
asked, "Mom, would you like to come with
me to the mall?" I was hesitant and said,
"let's eat breakfast first and watch the church
online. Then, I will tell you later how I feel."
Aside from not being able to be around so
many people, My mobility is still limited. I
have a problem standing and walking for a
long time due to sole numbness and weakness.
In moments like this where I feel unsafe going
out, I would constantly tell myself these words.
"I am healed; my wounds have been sealed.
The devil is a liar, a thief, and a murderer.
"Then, all my anxiety and disbelief seems to
melt away. Following that short pep talk,
is a heartfelt conversation with Christ, "Lord,
I am looking to you now, guide my thoughts,
and protect me. This is your battle, not mine."
Now, why would I keep on saying that? Let me
slowly rewind backward and tell you now. A
few weeks ago, I was mostly fastened, laying
down in the bed or sitting long on the couch.
Unable to stand even for about 5 minutes
or walk 10 feet without running to the toilet. I
had excruciating pain on my left kidney and a

sharp, tender, stinging pain all over my perineal
area beyond human tolerance. Have you
ever experienced pain where you could hardly
breathe, and while someone is continuously
pouring down alcohol on a new wound, not
just for a short time, but for a long time, that's
how it felt? My emotions were mixed up while
crying from fear, sadness, anger, frustration,
depression, and self-pity.

I'm sure I was almost becoming borderline crazy
if you saw me. You see, I developed a secondary
complication from my recurring stage 4 cancer
called vaginal-rectal fistula.
Out of my 4 tumors, one of them was huge,
measuring up to 9.3 cm, and had rested
on top of my vaginal cuff. This was where my
uterus used to be before my hysterectomy.
The other 3 tumors were located on top of the
liver, the right lung, and a recent one on the
diaphragm. The biggest tumor on top of the
vaginal cuff broke apart after my first
targeted chemotherapy.

I should be overjoyed because my body was
responding to the treatment. But instead, I
felt that my misery had just started. I started
bleeding with a slight genital discharge while
I was vacationing in the Philippines.
I felt slight changes in my body, like sudden fatigue
and occasional stomach pains, before I left to
attend my sister Angie's 60th bday celebration.
We consulted a Doctor but were not given any
examination because I was about to leave for
the US. After returning to Chicago, with 2 days
stopover by Hong Kong, my body no longer felt
normal. As soon as my husband picked me up
from O'hare airport, we went straight to the
Loyola ER hospital, where my OB gynecologist/
oncologist was. This was already 2 weeks
before being diagnosed with another stage
4 ovarian cancer (2nd cancer journey). My
husband and I decided to seek a 2nd opinion
after my consult with my Loyola Doctor. We
flew to Houston, Texas, for a second opinion
and decided to have my treatments
done in MD Anderson.
